The Master’s Muse, by Varley O’Connor.

The Master is George Balanchine, the muse is his 5th (ballerina) wife Tanaquil Le Clercq, and the novel is how they dance after she contracts polio in 1956, written as if it is Le Clercq’s autobiography.
